The Recipe Sliderule: Open Source Software for the Cannabis Industry

The Recipe Sliderule is a free open source tool that applies the THC and CBD levels in marijuana to setting doses for medibles like candy, baked goods, tinctures, and other concentrates.

As marijuana becomes legalized across the nation, consumers expect accurate labeling on products. Without lab analysis of the specific cannabis used no one - processors, retailers or consumers - knows what's in a specific product whether recreational pot or medical marijuana.

The Recipe Sliderule is available as an Excel spreadsheet and online as a Google Sheets.

Free Spreadsheet to Help Bake Marijuana Candy & Baked Goods

The Recipe Sliderule is a tool to help set the dose & serving size for THC and CBD if you’re making medibles or concentrates.

If you have the THC and CBD levels from lab analysis you can accurately establish a set dose for the candy, baked goods, or tincture you’re making. By using The Recipe Sliderule, doses can be consist across batches even when different cannabis is used each time.

With the legalization of marijuana behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the science of cannabis. Let’s set the myths and hearsay aside and learn how cannabis really works. “Cannabis: chemistry & cooking” is a free lecture that presents the science of cannabis addressing questions like:
- Are the various strains really that different? How & why?
- What’s in cannabis besides THC?
- Why is everyone talking about CBD?
- What’s the science behind smoking, eating, & other ingestion methods?
- How can I become a cannabis nerd?

Prohibition and the war on drugs spread lies and disinformation, depriving us of basic science and botany. While the body of scientific research continues to shed light on the healing effects of medical marijuana, somehow it never seems to make the mainstream media. Let’s change that by starting the conversation among ourselves.

As we learn more about marijuana, both as individuals and as a society, we’ll make better decisions about personal usage, laws & policy, and how to grow and prepare our own medicine the more we know.

WA State Begins Implementing I-502, Legalized Marijuana

The Washington State Liquor Control Board begins public forums this week on the implementation of I-502. I-502 legalizes posession of up to an ounce of marijuana in WA state by adults over 21.

The public meetings are the first step to licensed growers, producers, and retailers. Legal pot, taxed and sold over the counter.

Coincidently, the newly elected governor will be speaking with the Attorney General this week about the contrast between federal and state laws in both Washington and Colorado.

I for one, can’t wait!
