Here's a map of tech hubs in Africa. Things like hackerspaces, incubators, university technology centers, and more.
I hope this is not only a beacon to what's going on now but inspiration for others as well.
JetCityOrange is the voice of Jerry Whiting, live from Seattle. Unabashedly leftist, Buddhist, photo nut, walking bundle of contradictions. In short, a character. Dad to 3 sons, Cleveland born, a vegetarian before you could spell it. Also found at JetCityOrange.com

JetCityOrange is now on Pinterest (finally)
I've been reading about Pinterest for some time now. I realized it's something you have to do to get. Standing on the sidelines isn't playing the game.
If nothing else, Pinterest seems to be different not yet-another me too wanna be. So, I joined. Now JetCityOrange is on Pinterest.
Let the games begin!

Seattle Police Dept. & #OccupySeattle
As many of you know, I'm deep into the #Occupy movement. My early involvement with #OccupySeattle including but was not limited to videotaping arrests as a witness. Long story short, I edited out one instance of police action that was a.) not representative of the Seattle Police Department and b.) outside of acceptable behavior by a police officer IMHO. I filed a formal complaint through OPA even though the action wasn't directed at me. Today I have the opportunity to sit down with the officer in question along with a mediator. The happy conclusion? The officer and I shared openly and honestly. We watched the video I shot. Officer JL was honest, forthright, and professional, and for that, I thank him from the bottom of my heart.
